A Place To Share

Fellow Christians. I have often had a love/hate relationship with the idea of praying. I love the idea that I can go to the Lord and share my hopes and dreams and fears and frustrations. The Lord will hear my prayers and wants converse with me. I truely believe that. However, I am a fixer. I want down in the weeds, sweeping up the mess, 1-2-3 fomulas for fixing people's problems. I feel like I am failing when all I can offer is a, "I will be praying for you."

But in all reality, this is a powerful tool that we have been given as believers. I think many times we half-heartedly throw the statement to each other, "I will be praying for you" just like "How are you doing?" "Fine" without a second thought. Therefore, we, as believers, forget to pray for each other, are not encouraged by such a statement, and leave fellowship meetings empty and frustrated.

Other times we don't ever see the results of our prayer. We don't know how the prayers are answered. We don't follow up with the person, are afraid to follow up, or, sadly, just forgot due to our busy lives.

I am hope to help take care of some of these problems with this blog. The plan is simple:

1. Share your prayer request by e-mailing me at prayer_request@live.com. Please be appropriate.
2. I will post any request that I get.
3. Comment on the prayers that you are committed to praying for, letting the person know that you are praying for them.
4. E-mail me when something changes in your situation. Let me know which request was yours, and the update.
5. I will post the update on the blog, along with the original request.

That's it. I hope that this will unite believes in Christ and show the true power of God is at work here and now.
